What happens after you pay

The setup runs itself. Here is the order it happens in and what you should do.

Nothing needs a ticket. The moment your payment clears, the setup runs on its own.

The order it happens in

  1. 1Domain registered with the registry, in your name.
  2. 2Hosting account created on our servers.
  3. 3Mailboxes created for the addresses you asked for.
  4. 4DNS configured so the domain points at your new hosting and mail.
  5. 5SSL certificate issued, once DNS has settled.
  6. 6Welcome email sent with your login.

Most of that takes under a minute. SSL can take up to an hour because it waits for DNS.

If a step does not work first time

It retries itself. If an upstream system is slow, the step is parked and picked up again automatically. You see a checklist filling in, not an error, and our team is told about anything that needs a human before you would notice.

What to do once you are in

  1. 1Sign in at app.hostilo.co.za with the email and password you used at checkout.
  2. 2Create your mailboxes under Email, if you did not already.
  3. 3Set your mail up on your phone and laptop. Ask Hostiy for the settings and it will send them.
  4. 4Point the domain wherever your site is going to live, under Domains. There are one-click presets for Shopify, Wix and Google Workspace.

Moving an existing site in

If you already have a site elsewhere, do not rebuild it. Send us your current hosting login and we move the files, databases and mailboxes across for free, test everything on our servers, and only switch the DNS once it is working. Your old site keeps running the whole time.

Ask Hostiy in the corner. It can see your account, so it will give you the answer for your setup rather than the general one. Anything it cannot answer goes to a person.
