Any app that speaks IMAP works. These settings are the same on every device.
Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming (IMAP) server | mail.yourdomain.co.za |
| Incoming port | 993, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing (SMTP) server | mail.yourdomain.co.za |
| Outgoing port | 465, SSL/TLS |
| Username | your full email address, not just the part before the @ |
| Password | your mailbox password |
Replace yourdomain.co.za with your actual domain.
iPhone and iPad
Settings, Apps, Mail, Mail Accounts, Add Account, Other, Add Mail Account. Fill in your name, full email address and password. On the next screen choose IMAP and enter the servers above for both incoming and outgoing.
Android
Most Android mail apps ask for the account type. Choose IMAP, not POP3. POP3 downloads mail and removes it from the server, so it will not stay in sync with your other devices.
Outlook
File, Add Account, enter your email address, then choose "Let me set up my account manually" and pick IMAP.
Webmail
If you would rather not set anything up, go to https://webmail.hostilo.co.za and sign in with your full email address.
If it will not connect
- Use your full email address as the username. This is the most common mistake.
- Make sure SSL/TLS is on for both incoming and outgoing.
- If you have forgotten the password, reset it under Email in your dashboard. You get a temporary password immediately.
- A brand new domain needs its DNS to have propagated first. Give it an hour.
