What is billed when
- Hosting and email bill monthly, in advance.
- Domains bill yearly, before the expiry date.
- Add-ons like the CDN bill monthly and are pro-rated from the day you switch them on.
VAT
Hostilo is a registered VAT vendor. Every price on the website and in your dashboard is shown excluding VAT, and 15% is added on every invoice. Your invoice is a valid tax invoice. Add your own VAT number under your company details and it appears on all of them.
How to pay
- Card or instant EFT, from the Pay button on any unpaid invoice. Payments are taken by a payment provider on a page of theirs, so your card details never reach us.
- Manual EFT, quoting the invoice number as the reference. Tell us once you have paid so we can match it up quickly.
Getting a copy
Every invoice has View, Download and Email on it. Download opens your browser's print dialog, so you can save it as a PDF or send it straight to a printer. Email sends a copy to whoever you like, which is useful for your bookkeeper.
If an invoice goes unpaid
- 1On the due date, you get a reminder.
- 2Three days later, a second reminder.
- 3Seven days after the due date, services are suspended. Nothing is deleted.
- 4Thirty days after suspension, we get in touch before doing anything permanent.
Domains are different: they follow the registry's own expiry and redemption timeline, which we cannot change. We will chase you well before that point.
Changing plan
Upgrades take effect immediately and the difference is pro-rated. Downgrades apply at your next billing date, so you keep what you have already paid for.
Refunds and credits
Anything involving money going back to you is handled by a person, not automatically. Hostiy will always pass a refund, a billing dispute or a cancellation to our team rather than deciding it, and it will tell you that it has.
